The clouds roll in and the rain starts falling with no sign of stopping. When you have kids confined in the house this is no longer a cozy day on the couch with a cup of tea.
It may be your goal just to HAVE an intact couch at the end of the day. Being confined with no way to run can make good kids crazy, wound up, grumpy, and maybe a little bit accidentally destructive.
So how do you stop the trouble before it starts? Have a go to list of activities for rainy days. Something special they don’t get to do all the time. Here are 5 bloggers’ great ideas for kid activities we think fit the bill!

Animal Emotion Dice- by Gluesticks
Roll the emotion dice and the animal dice and act out the result! Giggles are sure to ensue. Make a couple of each dice so you can mix and match for longer playtime.

Paint with String Art- by Trish at Inspiration Laboratories
Help your kids make their own stamp. String, glue, and the side of a cereal box and your in business. We’re totally trying this one, I’m excited to see what he comes up with!
Galaxy Playdoh by Fairy Dust
Been there done that with Playdoh? Try this new take. She adds stars and other fun planet accessories in the mix. This would be fun using using a blue ocean theme, or your kids’ favorite color and different color glitter for them to roll through too.

Spaghetti Broom Painting by Blog Me Mom
Instructions on how to make your very own spaghetti broom! Gives some variety to your painting activities, makes it just a little silly, and maybe keeps hands a little cleaner!

The String Game by Making Boys Men
Her blog has a mess rating on the post- I love that. This activity rates low! What better way to serve up snack (or a treat) than putting down a no hands challenge? The pictures on this post are great and I can imagine it would be entertaining for everyone involved.
