It’s time for selfish sewing week! There are a variety of buttons available to display for this week’s sewing, but if I’m going to actually get any sewing done this week- It’s going to be coffee over here! Imagine Gnats and Made with Moxie are hosting a week long sewing event to encourage you to sew for yourself. In truth it’s something those of us with kids (or who regularly sew for them) sometimes need a push to do.
I went back and forth about what to make this week. I’m going to set a goal of ONE thing- I can do that.
I have a few things on my list of wants to sew. Being totally honest almost everything currently in my line needs a muslin- and I am soooo not in the mood. However, since I the last thing I made for myself was a pair of pants that didn’t come remotely close to fitting I also don’t want to just start cutting!
Here are the options I was considering:
The Washi Dress by Made by Rae. Everyone blogger needs one. Right?
Passport Jacket by Lisette. I have this cut. I’ve had this cut for some time.
The FREE Coffee Date Dress. I printed this pattern for the Project Sewn Sew a Long, it just hasn’t happened yet.
What I decided.
I decided to splurge and by a new pattern. I caved and finally bought myself the Lady Skater pattern. This post finally pushed me over. And Amanda does a ton of the fitting work for you. In this post she runs down how to get your fit right in great detail. I think it will be very helpful to an only sometimes women’s clothes sewer.
How about you? Will you sew for yourself this week?
PS- We plan on releasing our Ruffled PJ pattern this week! Keep your eyes peeled.
