Willow and Co. is a new pattern company preparing to launch their first line, Wanderlust: A glamping collection. This pattern company is composed of nine contributors, all amazing sewing bloggers. I’m very excited to be able to share pictures from the two upcoming patterns I was selected to test for!
Both the patterns I tested were designed by Haley of Welcome to the Mouse House. First up the Persimmon Dress and Top. This cute dress or tunic offers options for a ruffled bottom and side pockets. It dresses up the traditional summer dress with pleats and a center panel that can coordinate or accent.
I used the ruffle on my version, and finally had a chance to cut into this fun triangle I’ve been holding onto!
While I couldn’t share 90 percent of my kids week clothing sewing until now, I have to say it was wildly successful, she loves all the pieces that were sewn. Big brother is due some sewing time though.
Next up the Clover shorts! These shorts have an option of a ruffled waistband, pockets, a sash, and fun button tabs. The look deceptively difficult with pleats and a cuff, and yield an awesome pair of cute everyday shorts. Nighttime pictures of a dancing child coming up next 😉
They have a flat front and elastic back. That works great for us because I can yank in the elastic to get a better fit at the waist for the slender kiddo. I picked up this fabric on clearance for $2/yard, can’t go wrong!
She wouldn’t stop dancing…. But you can still see these are some cute shorts. This pair has a pocket though it hides a little in the print, and dancing. I wanted something a little more neutral that would work with a variety of tops. I had this lightweight denim that was just the ticket.
The final verdict? I have another dress and two more pairs of shorts cut and ready to sew. These are going to be summer staples! The full Glamping collection will be released April 22. It will be available HERE.
