While I really wanted to avoid a muslin-I decided better safe than sorry. I whipped up a bodice in the size my measurements fell into real quick, just to be sure. Then I spent 15 minutes trying to decide if it was too tight… Then I decided if I was in this heavy of a debate the answer was yes.
So I went up a size, and decided I was going for it. After all if I was going to get my one garment sewn I was setting a one muslin limit. This is why knits and I are such good friends- a little more forgiveness there.
So in the end this is my straight from the pattern no adjustments dress one size up from where my measurements indicated. This is why we trial run right?
We ran out in the break in the rain, it was freezing, and windy, but I got pictures! I’m super happy with it. There are more in my future! I made the 3/4 sleeve as we are moving into the Fall. I’m itching to make more sleeve and length choices.
Did you get any selfish sewing done this week?
