Long sleeve tee time! Fall is my favorite time of year. The weather is perfect for long sleeves tees, the air smells great, and the leaves start changing colors.
This fall we are celebrating a first birthday. Along with that baby got her first Cecilia tee. I wanted something bright and fun to match the kid to snap some first birthday pictures in.
((If you haven’t picked up your copy of the Cecilia tee it’s free to our newsletter subscribers. The full pattern is 12 months- 8 years. You can get it HERE. And the long sleeve add on HERE. Then turn it into a dress HERE. New to knits there is a full sew-along with tutorials that starts HERE.))

This is the 12 month size on my 12 month old. The body of the fabric is from Organic Cotton Plus. I’ve had great luck with their fabrics. The weights are nice, the colors are bright, and they wash great! And trust me my kids stuff has to handle plenty of washing. This great yellow color was out of stock when I looked, but the print is still available in other colors.
We designed the pattern to have a light “puff” or gather at the sleeve cap. It adds a small fun detail, but isn’t too overwhelming for the bigger girls who might prefer less pouf.
Donna used a rib knit for the cuff and neckband. On 12 month olds this is an especially good idea. It gives you extra give and recovery over their proportionally slightly bigger noggins.
The fabric translates across ages nicely, her big sister has a matching one she loves to wear too. Have you sewn up a Cecilia yet? We would love to see it! Hop over and share it in our Facebook group.
