Today we are sharing a pattern from the latest issue of One Thimble. One Thimble is a quarterly sewing e-magazine. It features both clothing patterns for women, children, and home. Issue 13 has just released.
I sewed up the Felt with Love purse. I’ve made a few felt food items, but over all this was one of the first felt items I’ve made. The Felt with Love purses comes with a wide range of fun appliques. I chose a planet.
It’s hard to see but I picked up some sparkly glitter for the main planet. I used a mix of felt sheets and by-the-yard felt. You can use either with this pattern. The pattern gives you tips on constructing the handle if you choose to do that with felt sheets instead of yardage.
The timing was perfect because my one year old loves toting things around. This is her preferred purse wearing style 🙂 My big kids both came home and began casually asking who exactly had I made this for? Which is a good indicator that I will be sewing more than one of these!
She can fit a surprising amount of goodies in there. The felt gives just enough structure that it’s easy for little hands to get things in and out of.
If you are looking for a quick fun sew, or if you are looking for a good project to sew with your kid, this would be a good project for you! You can see more patterns from the Issue below, or find One Thimble HERE.
