I’m back with another pair of jeans! As I mentioned in my post about the Birkin Flares I made there is a Skinny leg version in the works. Meet the Kendall Skinny Jeans. The Kendall Skinnies are great for those of us who trug through snow, or rain, and need a jean that will go inside of our boots!
The Kendall’s are still in the testing phase, this is my first pair. Lauren is working hard to get the perfect skinny leg. Power to her, I’m intimidated to fit a jean to just my body. Working out a great fitted pattern for multiple body sizes and types is a ton of work.
This is my third pair of jeans from this pattern, the Kendall Skinnies are built as an add on to the Birkin Flares. The process is getting smoother and faster for me each time. Because the waist is a little higher I feel much more contained while I work through my post baby bod. And when I get to a stable place they can be tweaked into the perfect fit for my body. Since I work from home I spend a ton of time in jeans- this is a big win for me.
I did have to pull the fly apart because in my late night sewing I managed to sew my zipper in upside down. Yep. That was a first! I omitted the belt loops from this pair. They’re fitting pretty snug for now, and given my personal body shape I’m less likely to wear a belt up higher for fashion purposes. I have a little bit of a shorter torso, and with my current nursing bust it seems even shorter.
I used a denim I ordered from Girl Charlee. The stretch was just what I needed, and for the great price I’m really pleased with how the are washing up and the general quality of material. It’s a lighter denim which works well for the skinnies. This pattern hasn’t been released yet, but well make sure to give a shout out when it is.
