Kid’s Yoga Pants- all of my KCW sewing

Normally I’m all in for Kids Clothing Week. But when it came up a couple weeks ago the timing wasn’t great, one of my sewing machines was dying, and the stars were just not in alignment. So rather than try and force it I decided to sit it out.

Than I got a twitchy at the end of the week and decided to sew up a pants pattern I’ve had for a bit. It came in one of the big Sew Fab bundles, the Ananda Pants by Chopsitx patterns.

ananda pantsA yoga pant for little people! I sewed up a 2T with fabric from my stash. I had planned on creating more neutral color pants, but I was vetoed by the 2 year old. They were a bit long, which had I read more closely the pattern does tell you, so I chopped them off a bit (I hadn’t re-hemmed yet in this picture)

They have a folded over yoga waistband. The gray was a little narrower just because I was working with my remnants. Aside from being a little long they fit her quite nicely. I think these will be a great staple that will transition as she gets older too.  The pattern runs from a 2-9/10.

Did you sew during this Kid’s Clothes Week? Did you accomplish your goals?

Happy Sewing,

Rachel

I love the bird print! I wonder how hard it would be to draft up to a size 12. Sounds like I wouldn’t need to add length…I do need to break this pattern out!!!

Love your fun prints pants! They must be great as pajama pants too. Sounds like I will have to make them shorter if I were to make for my daughter. Thanks for the info!

Cute! They look nice and comfy.

I abandoned my KCW due to the massive snowstorm we had. I was too busy playing outside to sew!

You are always giving me reminders about patterns I own, but have totally forgotten I own them. I’ll have to make up a couple of pairs for Winter. I like the 2 year old’s choice of fabric.

I didn’t sew for kids that week, but I did sew for myself! I like the fun prints and they look so comfy.

So cute! I have this from the Sew Fab bundle as well but haven’t tried it. I also missed KCW until the end – I’m trying to update a blog calendar of all upcoming sewing events like that so I can be more on the ball!
