
Last minute handmade holiday charge anyone? Whether you are a fast knitter looking for a gift idea, or you are looking for a fun gift for yourself may I recommend this handy dandy knit cowl?

This pattern is great for beginners, and a fun project for those with more experience.

You’ll need:
A bulky weight yarn with size 13 needles
You will need about 170 gms or about 6-8 oz of yarn depending on how long you want to make your cowl
Gauge: 4 stitches=1 inch 4 rows =1 inch
Glossary of terms:
K knit
P purl
C 3F slip 3 stitches onto cable needle hold in front of work knit next 3 stitches then knit 3 stitches from cable needle
Cast on 26 stitches. Knit 2 rows.
Row 3: K10 C3F K10
Row 4: K10 P6 K10
Row 5: Knit across
Row 6: K10 P6 K10
Row 7: Knit across
Row 8: K10 P6 K10
Row 9: K10 C3F K10
Repeat rows 4 thru 9 for pattern. Continue until piece measure 23 inches or desired length ending with row 8.
Knit 2 rows.
Sew button on corner of cowl. Gently separate stitches to create a
buttonhole area.
Wear it!
