I’ve been in a major sewing area de-stash and clean out. A couple weeks ago I came across a pair of shorts that were 90 percent finished. I don’t remember now why they were left undone, but the only thing they were missing was a hem and some elastic!
These are Terra’s Treasures Long Beach Board Shorts. (affiliate) The sizing on these has been extended up to a 14 since I originally bought the pattern, so I see plenty more of these in summers to come. They’re a pretty quick sew, which again is part of the reason I was stumped as to how they became an abadoned WIP.
I was worried they wouldn’t fit O anymore so I went to check the size on M and he almost had a heart attack. Good news they still fit him, with a custom sized waistband. Maybe it was good luck they waited to be finished, I don’t know that he would have cared much about them last summer, but they have become quick favorites since they hit the drawer this summer!
The pattern’s piped back allows for really easy colorblocking. It’s a nice way to use up those smaller pieces.
Have you had any great finds in your unfinished projects stack?
