Peasant Dress Tutorials

Hey Fellow Sewist! Ready to sew up one of the best basic girl patterns? We’ve got you.

The Peasant dress is a quick sew that requires minimal fabric and is really forgiving in sizing. Sign me up right?

We have 5 tutorials using the same basic pattern with a few variations to get you a variety of different styles. Sew them up and tell us which is your favorite (we love to see what you made). Find our Facebook community here.

Let’s get this started.

Download the Pattern (click here and a new tab will open with your pattern)

This pattern includes sizes 12-18 months, 2-3 years, and 4-5 years. This generally translates into the chest measurements 19-21″, 21-22″, 22″-23″.

Download the pattern do not print from the preview tab, this can affect your scaling. Open your pattern in Adobe Acrobat (it’s free!)

This pattern has layers. That means you can print just the sizes you want. When you open your file in Adobe click on the stack of papers circled below. Always keep Tilling and Notations on, they have check marks below. Click on the eyeballs next to the sizes to make a size appear or disappear. Print 1, 2, or all 3 sizes.

Confused? Don’t worry you can just print the pattern as you normally would too.

Print with no scaling, OR at 100% custom scale.

There is a 2″ and 4 cm square on page 8 of the pattern. Always double check the measurement of that square.

Pattern Layout

Each page has a large number on it. Arrange them 1-10. Trim or fold the borders to the triangles. Match the triangles to the piece of paper next to it. Matching these triangles will give diamonds. This pattern can be printed on letter or A4 size paper.

Your assembled pattern will look like this:
