The snow is officially flying here! When offered a chance to sew up a project from the newest One Thimble sewing magazine this project seemed just the right fit. A happy headband to contain the wild static head unleashed every time the winter hat slings off. Scroll all the way down for a chance to win a copy.
One Thimble is based in Australia, so lots of warm weather inspiration for your headbands too 🙂 This project is great for scrap fabrics- which I’ve been buried in lately and searching for scrap buster projects that would actually be useful and well loved.
I chose to finish my edges with a pinking shears instead of hemming. The tutorial helps you create several different looks which is always a benefit. Items that can be easily mixed into different styles means they’ll be used again and again! This style of headband is easy for her to get on and off by herself, which means she can re-wardrobe her head several times a day.
They kind of remind me of little fascinator hats- which makes me smile. You can find all of the details on the newest One Thimble, which features patterns for girls, boys, and women, HERE. Have you ever sewn a pattern from this magazine? What did you make?
