Reversible Relaxed Roller Skate Dress

Reversible Rollerskate Dress

This is looking to be a summer of dresses for M- they’re easy and she likes them. I had been tempted by all the reversible Roller Skate dresses popping up in the Oliver and S Flickr feed– and felt I had enough distance from my first dress and tunic that I was ready to sew it up again.

The pink side has the button, though I went with a color that would work with either side. I made her an 18-24 month again. I dropped the casing line this time so that it would hit her closer to the waist. I found this pattern a bit wide for her frame and wanted to see how that would work. It’s still a little wide through the shoulder/neck- I’m going to alter the pattern pieces  if when I do this again.

Things are finally starting to green up around here.

Side B- I choose this fabric second. I originally really preferred the pink. But once I got it sewn up and on her, I think I changed my mind.

She doesn’t go anywhere lately without a baby. She was also dead set on chasing geese for most of this picture excursion. Which terrifies me. Because geese terrify me to start with- and they are bigger than her….

I think this is a good option in my search for a go-to woven pattern. But I’m still shopping around.

Anyone have a good everyday woven dress they’ve sewn again and again?

Happy Sewing,

I just love the simplicity of the skater dress and your fabric choices are gorgeous! OH man… I’m scared of geese and ducks… I got chased by a duck the other day on our walk. It was a hilarious sight to see, everyone in the park all stopped and stared at this crazy woman screaming and jumping. Thank God no one caught it on video… or at least I don’t think anyone did. 😉

    Have a wonderful weekend!!!

I love both fabrics. I have been thinking a lot about trying out some reversible sewing projects lately. I need to save some closet space.

Both fabrics look great, but I really like the grey floral…

I have my “tried & true” patterns in bigger sizes…but I need a really cute, simple woven dress pattern in baby toddler sizes too. I want it to pull over for easy changing. Seems like they all have buttons.

    Great dress!
