While Rachel is busy moving her family across the country, I have tried to keep busy by sewing things for the kids. We received some cotton jersey from Organic Cotton Plus and I originally was going to make summer clothes for Ms M and Ms N. And then the craziness that this summer is started in earnest. Plan B. School clothes.
Ms M has outgrown all of the Sara Belle‘s we made last year and she wore them all in regular rotation. This cotton jersey from Organic Cotton Plus is a perfect weight. It sheers like a dream.
The pattern comes with tips on how to sheer your fabric. I used a soft knit from my stash for the lining. It pairs nicely with the white knit I used for the Leona Sweater. I made the plain front option and let the buttons off. I will ship it to Rachel in PA and she will add the snaps. I can see I will need to get my own KAM snap set up. She is too far away now for us to share.
The second piece of cotton jersey I got was the bright Banana Leaves. I was thrilled to be able to get a long sleeve Cecilia Puff Tee for Ms M and baby N. I used a white rib for the neck and cuff. This is the first time I have made matching shirts for the girls. I am not sure how I feel about the matching, but being that baby N is so small, I don’t think it will be a problem yet.
The Cecilia Puff Tee pattern can be yours free if you get our newsletter. Just use the code at the bottom of the newsletter. If you prefer not to get our newsletter you can purchase it in our Etsy shop. We love sewing with the knits from Organic Cotton Plus. Their fabric never disappoints.
We are having a moving sale to celebrate our new beginning. Use the code MOVING20 in our Etsy shop to get 20% off all of our patterns through September 7. Are you ready for school to start? I know the kids are anxious to start their new school.
