I’ve got a quick tutorial for you today. This super fast change up will turn your great Fall/Winter Thumbs Up Tee pattern into a summer staple.
The good news you get to keep the fun sleeve detail. Ready to get started?
*Your standard Sewing Supplies
1. Print or trace off your size. Pull out your lower sleeve piece.
2. You’re going to measure down from the LOW point of the lower sleeve. On my size 6 I measured down 2″. 12 month and 2Ts may want to take it down to 1 1/2″. Those making 10 and 12s may want to increase that to 2 1/2″.
3. Draw a line square across. This is your new hem. You can either cut across this line, or fold up the pattern piece. I folded mine so I can reuse my piece when the cool weather hits again.
4. You’re going to sew up your shirt the same as you would! Now when you hit the cuff simply turn under your shirt sleeve 1/2″ and hem.
Put it on your kiddo and send them out to play!
