Do you have a favorite staple in your wardrobe? I had a great white tee. It became hopelessly stained and I needed a replacement. As luck would have it I stumbled on this chunk of white knit and was looking to make a muslin for a project I’m going to share next week.
I know I’m a little late on the Dolman train but this is my first one! I made up this top using Kymy’s Dolman Top pattern (affiliate). The pattern appealed to me because covered both non-maternity and maternity, so I can keep using the pattern after bump.
I sewed up the ruched/maternity view, there are 5 different views included in the pattern. This works for me now and will be a great top in my postpartum window when you’re trying to figure out what the heck to wear now.
Overall I’m really happy with the fit. I’m a little narrow at the shoulder so I suspected I would end up wanting to use the included tutorial for making the boat neck a little more narrow. This top I will layer with a tank. I can’t wait to finish up and share my “real” version of the pattern.
Yay for wearable muslins!
